Aims and Scope

Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) (JCDR-HS) 

Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) was launched by Naresuan University in 2007. JCDR-HS is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal published both in print and as an open-access online journal. Manuscripts can be submitted online at https://www.journal.nu.ac.th/JCDR. Each submission in the JCDR-HS undergoes a rigorous peer-review process involving at least 3 expert reviewers.

Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) welcomes submissions of both research articles, review articles and academic articles in the fields of humanities and social sciences.

Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) aims to establish effective communication channels for the dissemination of knowledge and innovative research and ideas and to provide valuable references for academic and research professionals, including graduate-level researchers. JCDR-HS is dedicated to publishing original research articles and review articles, both contributed and invited, in the fields of Linguistics, Humanities, Fine Arts, Applied Arts (Music), Social Sciences, Education, Law, Business Administration, Economics, Communications, and other related disciplines. 

Submission of manuscripts to JCDR-HS must be in accordance with the regulations of Naresuan University Journal listed below:

  1. Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) publishes four issues per year: 1) January-March 2) April-June 3) July-September 4) October-December
  2. Submitted articles must be original and not previously presented or currently under review for publication in other journals.

Original research articles published in JCDR-HS undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process by at least three experts in the fields of humanities and social science. Submission of manuscripts is through the JCDR-HS online submission system. Any reproduction of articles requires written consent from the Editorial Board. The Editorial Board of Naresuan University Journals holds the final authority on the approval of research articles for publication, and the board’s decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

 Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) ​is indexed in the following databases: Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI), Google Scholar, and ASEAN Citation Index (ACI).

Peer Review Process

Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) employs a double-blind peer-review process to ensure the highest standards of scholarly publishing. JCDR-HS is available both in print and as an open-access online journal. Manuscripts can be submitted through the journal’s online submission system at https://www.journal.nu.ac.th/JCDR. Each submitted manuscript is thoroughly reviewed by at least 3 experts in relevant fields.

Types of Articles

Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) publishes articles in the following categories:

1) Research Article refers to a written work that systematically presents research results and new knowledge. A full report of a research project includes background, theoretical frameworks, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion amd recommemdations.
2) Review Article refers to an article that provides a comprehensive summary or review on a certain topic and a perspective on the state of related fields.
3) Academic Article refers to a written work on an interesting subject as a new body of knowledge.

Article Processing Charge

Articles submitted to Journal of Community Development Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) are subject to the following submission fee:

    - An article with the first and/or the corresponding author not affiliated with Naresuan University: 3,000 Thai Baht

    - An article with a Naresuan University alumnus/alumnae as the first or the corresponding author: 2,500 Thai Baht

    - An article with a Naresuan University student as the first or the corresponding author: 1,500 Thai Baht

    - An article with a Naresuan University staff as the first or the corresponding author: No Submission Fee

All submissions go through an initial screening by the JCDR-HS editorial team to assess scope, format, citation, and ethics compliance, as well as linguistic quality before being submitted for a double-blind peer-review process. Only manuscripts that pass this initial screening are considered peer review. This initial screening process typically takes up to 2 weeks, after which the journal’s coordinator will notify the corresponding author of the screening results.

When a manuscript passes this initial screening, the journal’s coordinator will inform the corresponding author about the transfer details for the submission fee. The submission fee must be transferred to the journal within 1 week from the date of the notification letter sent to the corresponding author. The payment slip must be sent to the following email address:  jcdr-hs@nu.ac.th

Once the journal has confirmed the submission fee payment, the editorial board will appoint three anonymous reviewers for each article. The manuscript will then undergo review according to the academic standard of its respective field. The corresponding author will be informed of the review result once all three reviewers have completed their assessment and submitted their comments.

The original research articles published in this journal were peer reviewed by least 3 readers per article who specialized in Humanities and Social Sciences. Any reproduction of the articles must be approved by a written consent from the Editorial Board.
