การศึกษาความสำเร็จและความล้มเหลวในการบูรณภาพของการแต่งงานข้ามมิติในนิทานพื้นบ้านไทย A Study of the Success and Failure in the Integration of Cross-Dimensional Marriage in Thai Folktales

     บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาลักษณะการแต่งงานข้ามมิติที่ปรากฏในนิทานพื้นบ้านไทย 2) เพื่อศึกษาความสำเร็จและความล้มเหลวในการบูรณภาพของการแต่งงานข้ามมิติในนิทานพื้นบ้านไทย และ 3) เพื่อศึกษาผลสะท้อนทางสังคมของการแต่งงานข้ามมิติในนิทานพื้นบ้านไทย โดยเลือกศึกษานิทานพื้นบ้านไทยจากสารานุกรมวัฒนธรรมไทย 4 ภาค ของมูลนิธิสารานุกรมวัฒนธรรมไทย ธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ ผลการวิจัย พบว่า ลักษณะการแต่งงานข้ามมิติที่ปรากฏในนิทานพื้นบ้านไทยมี 3 ลักษณะ คือ มนุษย์แต่งงานข้ามมิติกับสัตว์ มนุษย์แต่งงานข้ามมิติกับอมนุษย์ และมนุษย์แต่งงานข้ามมิติกับมนุษย์ที่มีกำเนิดประหลาด ส่วนการศึกษาความสำเร็จและความล้มเหลวในการบูรณภาพของการแต่งงานข้ามมิติในนิทานพื้นบ้านไทย พบว่า ลักษณะที่เป็นความสำเร็จ คือ การมีบุตรที่ดี การสามารถอยู่ร่วมกันได้อย่างเป็นปกติสุข และการมีชีวิตความเป็นอยู่ที่ดีขึ้น ในขณะที่ลักษณะที่เป็นความล้มเหลว คือ การไม่มีบุตร และไม่สามารถอยู่ร่วมกันได้อย่างเป็นปกติสุข ส่วนผลสะท้อนทางสังคม คือ การแต่งงานข้ามมิติเป็นอุปลักษณ์ทำให้เห็นถึงความหลากหลายของคนในสังคม และไม่ใช่เรื่องใหม่ในสังคม แต่เป็นเรื่องที่มีมาตั้งแต่โบราณแล้ว

      This article aims to: 1) study the characterization of cross-dimensional marriage as represented in Thai folktales, 2) study the success and failure in integration of cross-dimensional marriage in Thai Folktales, and 3) study the social reflection of cross-dimensional marriage in Thai folktales. In this study, Thai Folktales from four geographical regions as collected in the Encyclopedia of Thai Culture, published by Siam Commercial Bank Foundation, are selected for study. The results show that there are three types of cross-dimensional marriage represented in Thai folktales: human-animal marriage (between a human and an animal), human-non-human marriage (between a human and a ‘spirit’ being) and human-unusual birth marriage (marriage between a normal human and a being who has human form but was born in an unusual way). The successes of cross-dimensional marriage in Thai folktales are as follows: success in having good children and living happily together. The failures in marriage include being childless, living separately. The results of this reflection, sees a variety of different people in society, and that marriage across dimensions is metaphorical and not new to society, but has existed since ancient times.
